Planports Cloud Security
What is the Cloud?
Cloud technology, which is much more integrated into your life than you might think, may make you feel uneasy when explained as "cloud technology." However, if you are using email, internet banking, or social media, cloud technology is already part of your life. Many familiar platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Gmail, WhatsApp, Adobe, Google Drive, Dropbox, and banks' internet branches are actually cloud-based.
Before cloud technology, you could only work by installing programs on computers connected to a server owned by your company. However, with the advent of cloud technology, there is no longer a need for a server or installing programs on your computers. This eliminates the costs and burdens associated with server maintenance, database backups, IT teams, updates, training, etc.
Thanks to the cloud, all you need is a device with internet access. Whether it's a desktop or laptop computer, tablet, or smartphone, you can access your data in the cloud anytime and from any device.
Why the Cloud?
The cloud is much more cost-effective as it provides a pay-as-you-go space instead of requiring you to purchase your own hardware, and it does not require installation.
Cloud systems are continuously developed and updated, so there are no issues with loading and installing new versions. As soon as you access the platform, you immediately start using the updates.
The security enhancements of cloud systems also happen continuously.
You can access your data in the cloud anytime, from any device. There is no need to carry the computer with the installed program with you all the time. In short, all your data is with you even when you are out of the office.
If you are using the cloud, your data is not lost if your computer is damaged or stolen. You can access your data immediately from another device.
If you have very large data files, working with a program that requires installation can slow down your computer, requiring much larger memory. However, when you use the cloud, the cost of data space is much lower.
How secure is the Cloud?
Simply put, the cloud is no less secure than your own server. In fact, security updates and improvements are made continuously. On the other hand, you may not be able to perform these updates and improvements on your own server as quickly.
Because it is continuously developed, the technology used is always the latest.
Regular backups ensure that data loss is not an issue.
Just as you cannot guarantee the security of every program installed on your computer, you cannot guarantee the absolute security of every cloud platform you use. Therefore, be sure to use reliable software that does not leave you with any doubts.
Also, ensure that you are using the latest versions of your computer and browser. Install security updates immediately.
Avoid clicking on links from untrusted sources and do not log in from devices whose security you cannot guarantee. Regularly change your password and always define a different password. Remember, the most critical link in information security is the user.
Make sure you always type the Planports address into your browser's address bar to log in.
